The results of the vote of the membership on the proposed revision to the NWCCU accreditation standards and cycle were ratified by the Board of Commissioners at its January 11-13, 2010, meeting. Of the 155 ballots distributed (one to each NWCCU accredited institution), 136 (87.7%) ballots were returned. Quorum requirements were met, so the outcome for each ballot proposition was determined by a simple majority cast for that Proposition.
The results of the vote are as follows:
Proposition One (Accreditation Standards): Shall the proposed standards be adopted as the accreditation standards of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities?
136 Votes Cast: Yes Votes: 131 (96.3%) No Votes: 5 (3.7%)
Proposition Two (Accreditation Cycle): Shall the proposed seven-year review cycle be adopted as the accreditation cycle of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities?
136 Votes Cast: Yes Votes: 120 (88.2%) No Votes: 16 (11.8%)
Both propositions passed and the revised accreditation standards and seven-year accreditation cycle are adopted.
